\"Praeclara<\/a>Kira Keating\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is a voice instructor, music director, and soprano soloist originally from Ontario, Canada. She runs a private voice studio in Little Rock, Arkansas, and has toured internationally\u00a0with the Second Presbyterian Church Adult Choir<\/a>, where she is frequently featured as a soloist for choral masterworks and oratorios. \u00a0Her recent work for Praeclara includes appearances as the vampire Kristina in\u00a0Dracula Unearthed<\/a><\/em> (2015), one of the conspiring witches in Dido and Aeneas\u00a0<\/em>(2015),\u00a0Ellen Orford in Peter Grimes<\/a><\/i> (2014), and the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors<\/em> (2013); she also performed as part of the ensemble in\u00a0Carmina Burana<\/a><\/em> (2014).<\/p>\n

Her previous operatic experience includes singing the roles of Gretel in\u00a0Hansel and Gretel,\u00a0<\/em>Fresquita in\u00a0Carmen<\/em>, and Josephine in\u00a0H.M.S. Pinafore<\/em>, all for Wildwood Opera. \u00a0She has performed with Opera in the Rock; the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of London, Ontario; and the University of Western Ontario opera program. \u00a0Her oratorio credits include Bach\u2019s St. Matthew\u2019s Passion<\/em>, Schubert\u2019s Mass in G Minor<\/em>, Handel\u2019s Messiah<\/em>, Pergolesi\u2019s Stabat Mater<\/em>, Rutter\u2019s Mass for the Children<\/em>, Vivaldi\u2019s Gloria<\/em>, and\u00a0the world premiere of Wade Whittaker\u2019s Songs of the Sea Children<\/em>.<\/p>\n

She holds Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the University of Western Ontario<\/a>. She conducted the UALR Women’s Chorus from 2007 – 2010 and served as music director at First Christian Church of Little Rock<\/a> from 2010 – 2015.<\/p>\n
