\"\"<\/a>Nisheedah D\u00c3\u00a9vr\u00c3\u00a9 Golden (Sophie the Kettle)<\/strong>, a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, is a four-time winner of the Arkansas District Metropolitan Opera auditions and a four-time regional finalist. Some of Ms. Golden’s opera credits include Prince Orlofsky in <\/span>Die Fledermaus<\/span><\/i>, Miss Todd in <\/span>The Old Maid and the Thief<\/span><\/i>, \u00a0Madame Flora in the <\/span>Medium<\/span><\/i>, chorus in <\/span>Amahl and the Night Visitors\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and a concert version performance of <\/span>Porgy and Bess<\/span><\/i>. She made her international debut as Zita in <\/span>Gianni Schicchi<\/span><\/i> in Shanghai, China. \u00a0Some of her \u00a0professional theater credits include\u00a0<\/span>Bloody Mary in <\/span>South Pacific<\/span><\/i>, Missy in <\/span>Purlie<\/span><\/i>, Alice in <\/span>Big River<\/span><\/i>, Mrs. Enysford-Hill in <\/span>My Fair Lady<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>The Auction Block<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>One Ninth<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>The Sound of Music<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>To Kill a Mockingbird<\/span><\/i>, and Motormouth Maybelle in <\/span>Hairspray<\/span><\/i>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, Ms. Golden is a resident singer with the professional Opera Company, Opera in the Rock, in Little Rock. She appeared in the chorus in their production of <\/span>La Boheme<\/span><\/i>. She has also performed with the Opera in the Rock Orchestra at their \u201cGala Concert,” singing in the quintet piece \u201cThe Promise of Living\u201d\u009d from <\/span>The Tender Land<\/span><\/i> and \u201cBella figlia dell\u2019amore\u201d\u009d from <\/span>Rigoletto<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ms. Golden has also appeared as the mezzo-soprano soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Hot Springs Orchestra, and as the mezzo soprano soloist in Beethoven’s <\/span>Choral Fantasy<\/span><\/i> with the Shanghai, China Orchestra.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
