Kelly Singer is a coloratura soprano who hails from North Little Rock, Arkansas. She is a two-time winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions for the Arkansas District and a winner of the Audience Favorite Award at the 2016 Kristin Lewis Foundation Scholarship Competition. Her roles for Praeclara include Zaneeta Shinn in The Music Man (2016), Wilhelmina in Dracula Unearthed (2015) and Belinda in Dido and Aeneas (2015), as well as featured solos in Handel’s Messiah: Christmas Selections (2016) and Handel’s Messiah: Passion and Resurrection (2016).
Ms. Singer performs regularly with three local choirs: the Second Presbyterian Church Adult Choir in Little Rock, Arkansas, the UA Little Rock Concert Choir, and the UA Little Rock Community Chorus. She holds bachelor’s degrees in English Linguistics and French from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where she received top honors as a Donaghey Scholar, a Cooper Honors Scholar, and a magna cum laude graduate. She is currently pursuing post-baccalaureate studies in music with her teacher, Diane Kesling, and her coach, Dr. Kyung-Eun Na, and plans to begin graduate studies this fall.
